FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 5 Arkansas men’s cross country team will look to earn the program’s 49th cross country conference title Friday morning at Agri Park when it hosts the 2016 Southeastern Conference Cross Country Championship.

The Razorbacks have reigned supreme for the last six seasons, undefeated since 2010 and winners of 23 SEC cross country titles out of a possible 25 since joining the conference in 1991.

Nationally-Ranked Contenders
Head coach Chris Bucknam’s team has led the SEC in the national rankings as a staple inside the top eight since the start of the regular season.

Arkansas broke into the top five at the end of September, following a strong showing at Boston College’s Battle in Beantown which saw junior Alex George capture the individual 8K title.

Not the only ranked SEC program, the Razorbacks will line up against a talented Ole Miss team who improved from a preseason No. 22 spot to No. 11 heading into tomorrow’s competition.

Meet Info
The championship will begin at 10 a.m. CT with the women’s 6K race. The men’s 8K race will follow at 11 a.m. after which an awards ceremony will be help for the top individual performers and team champions.

Live results will be available for the meet through flash results. Additional information regarding the meet including championship history, course maps and local restaurants can be found at the SEC Cross Country Championship central. Fans are encouraged to engage in the event on social media using the hash tag #SECXC.

The championship meet will also be available to watch on the SEC Network on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. CT.

Admission is free to fans of all ages.
