FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas junior Oskar Johansson was one of 13 players from Southeastern Conference institutions named Thursday to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s NCAA Division I men’s tennis All-America team.
A native of Malmoe, Sweden, Johansson earned All-America honors in singles, becoming the 15th All-American in Arkansas tennis history and the first Razorback to earn All-America honors for his singles play since Marcus Hilpert in 1994.
“I’m very happy for Oskar,” 14th-year UA head coach Robert Cox said. “It’s tough to play No. 1 singles for any team, especially in the SEC. He was at a disadvantage with our team failing to do some of the things we hoped to, but his individual showing in the NCAA Championships helped him.”
