Arkansas-Missouri Southern Baseball Game Moves
BY ANDRES FOCIL
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Temperatures forecast in the mid-30’s and sustained winds in excess of 20 miles per hour have forced the Arkansas baseball team to move their 2002 season opener against Missouri Southern to Monday at 3 p.m.
The game was originally slated to begin on Sunday at 2 p.m., but expected weather conditions were not favorable.
“After talking to the Missouri Southern staff and our staff, I felt like it was in both team’s best interest to move the game to Monday,” Arkansas head coach Norm DeBriyn said. “The weather this time of year in Northwest Arkansas can be very harsh not just for the teams, but for fans as well.”
The weather forecast for Monday calls for sunny skies with temperatures in the high 40’s. Tickets purchased in advance for Sunday’s game will be accepted on Monday.
The Arkansas Razorback Sports Network will carry all the action beginning with the pre-game show at 2:40 p.m. The game can be heard locally on KAFM 1030 AM.
