Arkansas Opens With Tennessee

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas women’s basketball team finished the regular season with seven Southeastern Conference wins and enters the 2016 SEC Tournament as the 10th seed facing seventh-seed Tennessee in second round action Thursday in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Razorbacks split with the Lady Vols in a pair of regular season games this year. The game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. CT tip on the SEC Network. The winner of the Arkansas-Tennessee game faces second-seed Texas A&M
in the quarterfinals Friday at 5 p.m.

ARKANSAS NOTES IN THE SEC TOURNAMENT
• This is the fifth time the Razorbacks have been a No. 10 seed (2016, 2007, 2000, 1996, 1993)
• Arkansas has been eliminated in the first round every time they have been a 10th seed
• The Razorbacks most common opponent in the SEC Tournament has been Ole Miss with the teams meeting seven times
• Arkansas has never faced Tennessee, Texas A&M or Missouri in the SEC Tournament
• Kelsey Brooks is the only current player who holds a team record in the SEC Tournament – she is tied with eight other former players playing 40 minutes in a tournament game (vs. No. 3/3 South Carolina, 3-6-15)
• Current Razorback assistant coach Christy Smith is a part of three Arkansas SEC Tournament records including going 10-for-10 from the free throw line versus Alabama in 1995

• Venue: Veterans Memorial Arena
• Jacksonville, Florida – first time for the city and the state to host
• The top four seeds (South Carolina, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Florida) receive double byes and play their first game on Friday
