Arkansas Polishes Game Plan For Ole Miss

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Razorbacks spent just over an hour and a half on the practice fields in a cool drizzle Thursday afternoon working on the game plan for the Ole Miss Rebels.
Razorback head coach Houston Nutt was pleased with the progress of the team and noted their concentration during Thursday’s workout.
“I’m very proud of our guys today,” Nutt said. “They had good intensity throughout practice and stayed focused on what we were doing. It was a good day.”
Nutt also commented on the team’s improved enthusiasm during the practice session.
“Our spirits were really good today,” Nutt said. “Obviously yesterday was a little somber, but today was much better. Everybody came ready to work today and we’ve just got to keep that going.”
The Razorbacks were able to get in additional film study of the Rebels Thursday prior to the afternoon practice.
“We got caught up on some work that we were not able to do yesterday,” Nutt said. “We went a little longer today in meetings. It went well and we got some good work in.”
Ole Miss enters this Saturday’s contest with a 5-2 overall record and a 2-1 record in the Southeastern Conference.
The Rebels feature on offense that is averaging 31.1 points per game this season and averaging 260.7 yards passing per outing.
The Ole Miss defense has forced 16 turnovers with 10 interceptions and six fumble recoveries. The Rebels are allowing 24.6 points per game and surrendering 127.7 yards rushing per game.
Arkansas enters the game with a 3-3 overall record and a 1-3 mark in conference action. The Razorbacks hold a 25-23-1 series advantage over the Rebels, though the series record is disputed by Ole Miss.
The Razorbacks and Rebels kickoff at 1 p.m. from Donald W. Reynolds Razorbacks Stadium. The game will not be televised.
