Arkansas Routes Georgia 14-3; Hogs Claim Serie

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The 22nd-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks notched their second straight Southeastern Conference series victory with a 14-3 win over the Georgia Bulldogs Saturday afternoon in front of 3,915 fans at Baum Stadium.
The win moved the Hogs to 25-5 overall and 7-4 in the SEC and dropped the Bulldogs to 14-15 overall and 1-10 in the league.
Arkansas relief pitcher Scott Roehl (5-1) earned the victory after going three and one-third innings allowing one run, earned, on four hits with five strikeouts. Roehl came in for starter Clint Brannon who went four and two-thirds innings surrendering two runs, earned, on seven hits with a pair of strikeouts.
Brent Benefield (0-3) took the loss for Georgia after giving up three runs, earned, on three hits in one and one-third innings.
The victory was the fifth straight conference win for the Razorbacks and sixth straight overall. The five-game SEC winning streak is the longest for the Razorback since reeling off five straight in 2001. Arkansas’ longest SEC winning streak is 10 games set in the conference championship season of 1999.
