Arkansas Sends Four To Last Chance

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Four Arkansas swimmers will compete at the NCAA Last Chance meet in Athens, Georgia, this weekend in hopes of improving their ‘B’ cut times to increase their chances to be invited to the NCAA Championships.

Prelims will begin at 9 a.m. CT Saturday morning from the Gabrielsen Natatorium on the campus of the University of Georgia. Finals will follow at 4 p.m. CT.

Juniors Jessie Garrison and Chelsea Tatlow will each swim in the 200 butterfly, after both set their personal best with ‘B’ cuts in the B-final at the SEC Swimming and Diving Championships. Tatlow finished 13th overall at the SEC Championships in 1:57.55, as Garrison touched 14th in 1:57.85. Both have recorded two ‘B’ cuts already in the event this year and combine to hold the top five times on the team.

Junior Olivia Weekley will try to improve her personal best and ‘B’ cut time of 53.35 in the 100 butterfly this weekend that she set in a time trial at the SEC Championships. Weekley holds the top four times in the event this season on the team with four of the five ‘B’ cuts in the event.

In the 100 breaststroke, sophomore Madison Strathman will be attempting to better her 1:01.50 ‘B’ cut and personal best that she set at the Georgia Tech Invitational back in November.
