Arkansas’ pass on fourth-and-three at the Texas 28 in the second quarter was incomplete. The Razorbacks entered the game four-of-six on fourth-down conversion attempts. Arkansas was one-of-two on fourth-down conversion attempts later in the game. Arkansas is now five-of-nine for the year.
The points allowed by Arkansas are the most since the 70-17 loss at No. 1 Southern Cal in 2005.
The Razorbacks’ two losses this year are both to top 10-ranked teams No. 7 Texas and then-No. 9 Alabama. Arkansas faces another top 10 team this week when No. 4 Florida visits Fayetteville.
Casey Dick was seven-of-13 passing for 138 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. He is now third on Arkansas’ career completions chart with 442, fifth with 620 attempts, eighth with 4,239 yards and third with 39 touchdown passes.
Joe Adams had Arkansas’ first reception of the game, an 18-yarder, which topped his yardage total against Alabama. Against the Crimson Tide, he had one catch for seven yards. He has at least one reception in all four games.
Shay Haddock’s 30-yard field goal at 9:44 of the second quarter was his first on the first attempt of his career. Haddock’s only other previous experience came against Louisiana-Monroe when he converted two extra point attempts.
London Crawford out-jumped a Texas defender to make a 34-yard catch in the second quarter for his longest reception of the season.
D.J. William’s 26-yard first-half reception was his second-longest of the season behind the 76-yarder against Louisiana-Monroe. It was also the third-longest of his career. His season-long last year was 28 yards.
Freshman quarterback Tyler Wilson made the second appearance of his career. After playing in the previous game against Alabama, he entered the Texas game in the third quarter when Casey Dick was forced to leave the game. On his first play, he completed a three-yard pass to D. J. Williams on third down. Arkansas was forced to punt following that play and Dick returned for Arkansas’ next possession, but Wilson went back in later.
Michael Smith’s 24-yard reception in the first half off a screen pass was a season long.
Jarius Wright made a six-yard reception on the last play of the third quarter for his third catch in the last two games. He had no receptions in the first two games.
Jeremy Davis averaged 45.2 yards on six punts for his best single-game average of the season. He had a long of 54 yards, his second-longest of the season. He had a 56-yarder against Alabama when he averaged 43.4 yards on seven punts.
Antwain Robinson’s 80-yard fumble return for a touchdown was the first for Arkansas since Robinson’s 16-yard return for a score against Kentucky last year. Robinson now has four touchdowns for his career, two on fumble returns and two on interceptions (Mississippi State and Florida).
