Arkansas Travels To Stillwater For Season Opener

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The defending Southeastern Conference champions Arkansas men’s cross country team will kick off the season with a trip to Stillwater, Oklahoma, on Sept. 1 to compete in the Cowboy Duals.

The Razorbacks head into the meet as the No. 1 team in the South Central region and the No. 6 team in the nation, announced by the USTFCCCA earlier this week.

Last year the Razorbacks saw solid team success, placing no lower than fourth as a team during all regular season competition and opening the postseason with consecutive victories at both the conference and regional meets. The Hogs followed those outings with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Championship – the program’s best since 2006.

Arkansas will see the return of four 2015 All-SEC honorees in Jack Bruce, Austen Dalquist, Alex George and Frankline Tonui.

Bruce and Tonui went on to pick up additional accolades after their commendable efforts at the conference meet, racing to All-America honors on the national stage.

Scheduled to take on the course at 8 a.m. CST Arkansas will face off against Oklahoma, Wichita State, Tulsa and the top-ranked team in the Midwest Region, the Oklahoma State Cowboys, on Thursday morning.
