Arkansas-Alabama Football Game to be Televised

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas and Alabama will play in a televised game on Saturday, Sept. 24, but the television network and game time is yet to be determined it was announced by the Southeastern Conference office on Monday.

CBS Sports has utilized its right to a six-day option in choosing a game for that weekend. CBS is considering both the Arkansas-Alabama game and the Florida-Kentucky game for a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff. Conference television contracts call for networks to announce television games 12 days prior to the playing date. However, twice a year CBS may use a six-day option to delay its decision another week.

If the Razorbacks and Crimson Tide are not chosen for CBS Sports they will play in a game televised by Jefferson-Pilot Sports at 11:30 a.m. CT. A final decision will be made on Sunday and the announcement will be posted on www.hogwired.com.

In any event, Arkansas will be making its second television appearance of the season when it takes on Alabama. The Razorbacks take on the Southern California Trojans this weekend on FSN at 9:15 p.m. CT. In addition, Arkansas is scheduled to appear on CBS on Nov. 25 against LSU.
