Noting the RazorbacksArkansas (37-22, 14-15 SEC) won the NCAA Norman Regional on Sunday night taking the tournament in three games with wins over No. 24 Washington St. (10-3) and No. 9 Oklahoma (17-6, 11-0) … Six Razorbacks were named to the All-Tournament team (Zack Cox-3B, Chase Leavitt-OF, James McCann-C, Drew Smyly-P, Ben Tschepikow-SS and Andy Wilkins-1B) … Andy Wilkins was also named the tournament’s most outstanding player … Andy Wilkins batted a ridiculous .750 (12-16) with six runs scored, five doubles, two home runs, 11 RBI, 23 total bases and a 1.438 slugging percentage … The Razorbacks as a team hit .378 over the three games with three starters hitting better than .400 (Andy Wilkins, Ben Tschepikow and Bo Bigham) … Drew Smyly was electric in Arkansas’ regional-clinching victory as he pitched 8.1 innings of no-hit baseball, facing the minimum 25 batters … Smyly ended the game with career best 8.1 innings pitched, one hit, two walks and a career best 12 strike outs leaving to a standing ovation and even getting a curtain call from the Arkansas supporters … The Arkansas win at the NCAA Norman Regional places the Razorbacks in a Super Regional with Florida State … This is the third Super Regional that Arkansas has played in since the format was adopted in 1999 and the Razorbacks are 1-1 in Super Regional Tournaments … The Razorbacks’ last Super Regional came in 2004 where it knocked of Florida State in two games at Baum Stadium … Arkansas has played Florida State three times in post-season play over the years and are 3-0 against the Seminoles, coincidentally all three games have led to Arkansas making a run at the College World Series.
