Team Notes:The 15th-ranked Arkansas baseball team swept a weather-shortened series at Georgia over the weekend. Arkansas won both games played in the series, winning 2-0 on Friday and 2-1 on Saturday. The series finale on Sunday was cancelled due to inclement weather. The Razorbacks are now 29-15 on the season and 13-7 in Southeastern Conference play.The Arkansas pitching staff compiled a 0.50 ERA in the two games against the Bulldogs. Barrett Astin turned in a dominant performance in the series opener, working a career-long eight shutout innings and striking out a season-high eight, while only allowing four hits. Ryne Stanek started Saturday’s game and turned in a quality start, allowing a run on seven hits and striking out three in 6.2 innings. Colby Suggs recorded a save in each game of the series. Suggs worked two scoreless innings and struck out one. Jalen Beeks and Landon Simpson each had a scoreless appearance out of the bullpen. Beeks struck out two in one inning, while Simpson retired the only batter he faced.At the plate, the Razorbacks hit .138 in the Georgia series. Brian Anderson led Arkansas at the plate, going 3-for-7 at the plate with a RBI. Anderson also turned in a highlight reel defensive play in Saturday’s game, reaching over the bullpen fence down the left field line to make a great catch. The play was the No. 2 play on Sportscenter’s Top 10 plays for Saturday night. Jake Wise had two RBI and went 2-for-6 in the Georgia series, while Jacob Mahan was 1-for-3 with a run scored.Arkansas plays its final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday, hosting Missouri State. First pitch against the Bears is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Next weekend, the Razorbacks head to Lexington, Ky., to face No. 24 Kentucky Game times for the weekend series are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Friday, 6 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. All three games of the series will be televised with Friday and Saturday’s game on the Big Blue Sports Network and Sunday’s game on Cox Sports Television.
