FAYETTEVILLE — The Razorback swimming and diving team (5-1, 2-1 SEC) posted three event wins, two NCAA ‘B’ cut times and two NCAA zone diving qualification scores during its double-dual meet against Alabama and Kentucky in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Saturday.
Senior Kesha Naylor (Saskatchewan, Canada) earned her best score of the season in three-meter diving with a 316.40. The score won her the individual event and is also the 15th-best score in the SEC this season. The score marked Naylor’s fourth zone qualifying performance.
Naylor also placed third in one-meter diving with an NCAA zone qualifying score of 273.85.
Sophomore Anna Mayfield (San Antonio, Texas) won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:00.89 to score for the Razorbacks.
Junior Susanna White (Forest, Va.) won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:00.70, more than three seconds faster than her closest competitor. The time is an NCAA ‘B’ standard for White.
Junior Nikki Daniels (Wichita, Kan.) also earned an NCAA ‘B’ cut time in the 200 breaststroke, finishing second with a time of 2:12.52.
Ultimately, the Razorbacks defeated Kentucky, 156.5-143.5, and fell to Alabama, 172-128.
The Razorbacks will return to competition Jan. 25 when the team faces Clemson and Rice in a double-dual meet at the Arkansas Natatorium at noon. Admission to the meet is free, and all attendees will be able to participate in a raffle at the door to win two tickets to the men’s basketball game against Auburn at Bud Walton Arena at 5 p.m.
