Arkansas hosts second event of fall

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas softball team will return to action Saturday as it welcomes two more teams to Fayetteville for the second event of the fall, the Razorback Fall Festival. The Razorbacks will play hosts to teams from Pittsburg St. and Tulsa. All games will be played Bogle Park, the new home for Arkansas softball.

The Razorbacks will open play with an 11:30 a.m. matchup with Pittsburg St, which will be followed by the day’s second contest, a game between Pittsburg St. and Tulsa. That game is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Arkansas will return for the finale, a 4:30 p.m. game against Tulsa.

In their first event of the fall, last weekend’s Arkansas Fall Festival, the Razorbacks split their two games. Arkansas, hindered by mistakes and four fielding errors, dropped a 10-7 decision to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in its first game. The squad rebounded and its bats came alive to post an 11-0 shutout win over Seminole St. in day’s finale.

The Razorback Fall Festival is the second of four schedule fall events for head coach Jamie Pinkerton and his team. Following this weekend, Arkansas will host Drury and Crowder (Oct. 5) before closing out the fall season with games against Oklahoma St. and Northeastern St. (Oct. 11).
