Arkansas-Mississippi Valley Baseball Postponed

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Razorback baseball game with Mississippi Valley State on Wednesday night was postponed due to inclement weather.

No makeup date has been finalized, but the teams are expecting to make up the game later in the year.

“We really wanted to play,” Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn said. “We were looking forward to it but with the rain and the possibility of someone getting hurt, we just felt that this was the right decision to make.”

Both teams were expecting to start Wednesday’s contest and each took batting practice in anticipation, but as the final batting practice session ended steady rains covered Baum Stadium forcing Arkansas to place the tarp over the infield. The teams waited nearly an hour after the scheduled start before calling the contest.

The Razorbacks now prepare for Auburn University who makes its way to Fayetteville for a three-game series beginning on Friday night, April 4 at 6:35 p.m. For more information regarding Razorback baseball or University of Arkansas athletics please visit www.hogwired.com.
