FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas is ranked No. 21 in the pre-season Associated Press college football poll released on Saturday. The Razorbacks are coming off a 10-4 season that included a Southeastern Conference Western Division Championship.
Arkansas is one of six SEC teams in the initial listing of the season. LSU is the top ranked SEC team coming in at No. 2, trailing only No. 1 Southern California. Florida also earned a spot in the top 10 ranking sixth. Georgia, Tennessee and Auburn netted places in the top 20 ranking 13th, 15th and 18th, respectively.
Arkansas was ranked No. 20 in the USA Today Coaches’ pre-season poll released earlier this month and was recently ranked No. 13 by Sports Illustrated. The Razorbacks finished 15th in the final Associated Press and 16th in the final USA Today Coaches polls last season.
Arkansas opens the season against Troy on Sept. 1 at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
