FAYETTEVILLE – University of Arkansas men’s tennis head coach Robert Cox announced the fall schedule for the Razorbacks’ 2012 campaign Wednesday. Nine tournaments make up the fall portion of the year with each Razorback men’s tennis player competing in at least three events to gain experience against solid competition.
"The idea of our fall schedule is to ensure that every player on our roster plays a minimum of three events," Coach Cox said. "We will take four players to each event which is why we scheduled nine separate tournaments."Arkansas kicks off its fall season at the UNC-Wilmington Landfall Invitational which is scheduled for Sept. 7-9. The month of September also includes trips to the Midland Invitational and the Louisville Fall Invitational before UA ends the month at the Napa Challenge.The Razorbacks will participate in four tournaments in October beginning with the Navy Gold Invitational the weekend of October 5-7. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regionals are being held Oct. 18-22 with Arkansas in the Minnesota Regional. Arkansas will close the month with the Northwestern Wildcat Invitational in Chicago. The Razorbacks wrap up their 2012 fall season at the UNLV Larry Easley Invitational scheduled for Nov. 2-4 in Las Vegas.
"I am really pleased with the tournaments we are in and the competition that we will be facing this fall," Coach Cox said. "This is about the most competitive and complete fall schedule that we have had in all my years at Arkansas, and we are really excited to get going."
