TUSCALOOSA, ALA. – The University of Arkansas softball team faces No. 2 Alabama in a midweek Southeastern Conference doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Alabama Softball Complex in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
The Lady Razorbacks (12-23, 0-3) went 2-6 last week and come off of a 5-4 win against Nebraska in the final game of the Big Red Tournament this past Sunday.
After collecting just three hits the first day of the tournament, the Lady’Backs picked up their offense the next two days producing 16 runs on 29 hits and bringing home two victories.
“I want to make sure we play well this week,” said head coach Jamie Pinkerton. “If we play like we did Saturday and Sunday, I expect good things. I also like the momentum we carry into Wednesday’s game.”
Second-ranked Alabama (28-1, 7-1) returns home after playing its last five games on the road. The Crimson Tide swept a three-game series from No. 24 South Carolina and split a doubleheader at No. 22 Florida.
“We have a tough task ahead of us,” said Pinkerton. “Playing teams like Texas A&M and Oklahoma early this season should prepare us for the environments this week.”
