Arkansas Softball Week Three Notes

Senior catcher Shana Easley hit Arkansas’ first home run of the fall in the Lady’Back Fall Festival. Easley also recorded a tournament-high three RBIs.

Mighty Offense

The Arkansas offense continued to be productive as six Lady’Backs hit .400 or higher. As a team the squad tallied a .367 batting average.

In the circle

Despite giving up its first runs of the fall, the Arkansas pitching staff finished the Lady’Back Fall Festival with a 1.29 ERA.

Senior Savvy

Seniors Mindy O’Malley and Blaire Perry paced the Arkansas offense as they both went 4-for-5.

Progress

Through five games, the Lady’Backs have a .388 team batting average and a 0.56 team ERA.

Welcome Back

Perry led the Lady’Back offense with a .833 batting average and five in the first fall tournament. Perry also led the squad in stolen bases, as she was 2-for-2.

Ring of Fire

As a staff, the Lady’Back hurlers shutout and combine for 30 strikeouts against Crowder, Evangel and Neosho in the Arkansas Fall Festival. Leading the crew with 11 strikeouts, Perry returned to the circle for the first time since the 2004 season.

Three’s Company

Freshman catcher Whitney Cloer and Easley each recorded a triple in the Arkansas Fall Festival.

S for Superwomen

Infielders freshman Sandra Smith and sophomore Samantha Buckner paced the Arkansas offense with five and four RBIs, respectively.

Debut

Junior pitcher Kayce Odle was impressive in her appearance as a Lady’Back with 10 strikeouts and a shutout.

Hey Batter

The Arkansas offense finished the festival with a .400 team batting average. Six Lady’Backs recorded averages over .500.

Take Two

In the festival, the Lady’Backs tallied five doubles with O’Malley, junior outfielder Rachel LeMaster, Easley, Buckner and Smith contributing to the Arkansas effort.
