Arkansas-Texas Game to be Televised by ABC

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas and Texas will renew their football rivalry in Austin, Texas, this fall in a nationally-televised game on ABC Sports, it was announced on Thursday. The Razorbacks and Longhorns will square off in the non-conference game on Sept. 13, at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT. Arkansas’ matchup against its former Southwest Conference rival is the second game slated for national television on the Razorbacks’ 2008 schedule. First-year head coach Bobby Petrino will lead the Hogs against defending national champion LSU on Nov. 28 in Little Rock in a game nationally-televised by CBS Sports at 1:30 p.m. CT. No further television arrangements involving the Razorbacks for the 2008 season have been made at this time. Networks may wait until 12 days prior to a game to select that contest for telecast. Arkansas has appeared on television 18 times in the past two seasons, including seven television appearances in 2007.
