Arkansas to host ITA Central Region Playoff

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas Lady Razorback tennis team will be hosting a playoff againstthe University of Oklahoma on Saturday for a chance to qualify for the ITA National Team Indoor Championships.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to host this playoff,” said Lady’Back head coach Michael Hegarty. “We will need our best performance of the fall to win.”

The match will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

“The National Team Indoor is a premier event, and our team would be thrilled to take part in it,” Hegarty said.

The Lady’Backs were awarded the No. 1 seed and named host of the playoff, due in part to their incredible performance at the ITA Central Region Championships on October 17-21 in Tulsa, Okla. Junior Aurelija Miseviciute brought home the singles crown, while she and teammate Ela Kaluder came in second in doubles action. Also, the Lady’Backs put three singles players into the final eight of the tournament.
