Arkansas-Western Illinois Cancelled for Saturday

FAYETTEVILLE – The Arkansas-Western Illinois baseball game scheduled for Saturday, February 28, has been cancelled due to weather. The teams will meet for their regularly scheduled game on Sunday afternoon, March 1 at 12:05 p.m.

A dusting of snow overnight coupled with temperatures below freezing prompted Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn and the Arkansas operations staff to postpone the contest. Sunday’s weather forecast calls for temperatures in the 30s, but no precipitation giving the squads the opportunity to continue their series.

The 21st-ranked Razorbacks defeated Western Illinois, 8-7, in game one of the series on Friday in 10 innings. Sophomore Brett Eibner was the hitting star in the game as he went 2-4 at the plate with two walks and delivered a game-winning triple in the bottom of the 10th inning.
