FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas women’s athletics department is partnering with the Southeastern Conference and other member institutions for a league-wide "Together we CAN" canned food and financial donation drive in the coming weeks. Student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) members on each campus are organizing and implementing a canned food drive Sept. 21-30, on all 12 campuses. Each campus will donate the proceeds of the drive to area food banks. Drop boxes for canned goods will be located at several sites on campus during the collection period. Drop off donations at the Broyles Complex, the Bev Lewis Center and Barnhill Arena anytime during regular business hours from Sept. 21-30. Donations will be accepted Sept. 29 during the Arkansas/North Texas football game at games 1 and 15 of Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Finally, donations can be made at the Lady Razorback soccer matches Friday and Sunday, Sept. 21 and 28 when Arkansas hosts Missouri State and Ole Miss, respectively. Proceeds from the Arkansas drive will benefit Seven Hills Homeless Shelter, Peace at Home Shelter for battered women and children and Compassion House.
