Noting the RazorbacksArkansas (22-6, 10-2 SEC) was 3-1 on the week with a mid-week victory at Missouri State on Tuesday evening, 2-0, and then took two of three at South Carolina, 6-4, 1-9, 7-4 … The Razorbacks’ 10-2 start in Southeastern Conference play is its best start ever … The Hogs have won four straight SEC series for the first time since the 2006 season … Arkansas’ victory against the Gamecocks is their sixth straight series win against South Carolina … In the polls last week, Arkansas was ranked between No. 4 and No. 14, its highest rankings since the 2006 season … Arkansas was ranked No. 4 by Collegiate Baseball, No. 8 in both the USAToday/ESPN Coaches Poll and Rvials.com rankings, No. 13 in Baseball America and No. 14 in the Collegiate Baseball Writers … The Hogs began the week with a second shutout of Missouri State in a week with a 2-0 victory on Tuesday and went 18 innings against the Bears this season without surrendering a run … The game was a showcase for sophomore Brett Eibner who started on the mound and pitched four no-hit innings and also hit two solo home runs … In the Missouri State shutout, six Arkansas pitchers combined to keep the Bears off the scoreboard and allowed just three hits … The Razorbacks won their seventh game of the season when Friday night starter Dallas Keuchel pitches with a 6-4 victory over South Carolina … Keuchel is now 5-0 overall and 4-0 in SEC play in his first four starts and is the first Razorback to do so dating back to the 2002 season … The Razorbacks battled back from a 4-0 deficit on Sunday afternoon to win 6-4 and take the series from South Carolina … Junior Mike Bolsinger was brilliant on the mound as he pitched six innings to earn the win, allowing one hit and one walks while striking out three and throwing just 61 pitches … At the plate Chase Leavitt had the most productive week thanks to his second four-hit game of the season as he batted .375 with six hits, one run, two doubles and three RBI … Freshman Zack Cox had his best week in terms of power and RBI for the week as he belted two home runs against South Carolina and drove in seven RBI … Cox also collected both game-winning hits in the South Carolina series … In part-time action, Jacob House was very good with five hits in eight at-bats against the Gamecocks (.625) with two runs scored, a home run and two RBI … The Razorbacks prepare for a mid-week series against unanimous top 10 team Arizona State at Baum Stadium Tuesday and Wednesday before welcoming the Vanderbilt Commodores to Fayetteville for the weekend.
Pitcher of the Week NomineeMike Bolsinger * Junior * RHPMcKinney, Texas/North McKinney HS/Grayson [Texas] CC* Made three appearances on the week (each led to an Arkansas win), picking up a hold in Arkansas’ victory at Missouri State, earning a win in the series clinching victory at South Carolina on Sunday afternoon and throwing 2 2/3 against South Carolina on Friday night (one out shy of a save).* In the Missouri State outing he tossed one inning (the 8th) and struck out one.* In the Friday night game with South Carolina he was nearly untouchable as he went 2 2/3 innings and allowed two hits, one earned run and struck out six including the final five batters he faced.* On Sunday afternoon he went a season long six innings and allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out three. He threw just 61 pitches.* For the week Bolsinger tossed 9.2 innings and allowed just three hits, one walk and one earned run while striking out 10 and held opponents to just a 0.91 batting average.* For the season Bolsinger is 3-0 in 11 appearances (all out of the bullpen) with a save and two holds. He has thrown 26.0 innings and allowed six earned runs and opponents are batting just .146 against him.

Freshman of the Week NomineeZack Cox * True Freshman * INF/RHPLouisville, Ky./Pleasure Ridge Park HS* Was the key batter in the South Carolina series as he drove in seven runs in two games while belting two home runs and scoring twice.* Had both game-winning hits for Arkansas in the series, a two-run home run on Friday night and a two RBI single on Sunday afternoon.* Batted .231 for the week, but .300 in the South Carolina series.* His seven RBI in the South Carolina series nearly matched his season total of nine entering the weekend.* His two home runs doubled his season total.
