FAYETTEVILLE – The Arkansas baseball team will appear on regional or national television at least 17 times during the 2011 baseball season, including nine games featured as part of the Southeastern Conference’s baseball television schedule announced on Friday.In addition to the Razorbacks’ nine appearances on the SEC television schedule, Arkansas will make eight appearances on Cox Sports Television (CST) as part of its partnership with the regional cable network. Final selections for the Razorbacks’ CST package are being finalized and those games will be announced at a later date. "We are excited about the unprecedented television coverage of Razorback Baseball for the 2011 season," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. "Our league partnership with ESPN combined with our regional television package with CST will bring our fans a wide selection of games throughout the year. The exposure generated by this extensive television package will help spotlight our outstanding baseball program and bring Razorback Baseball into new homes throughout the region and around the country." As part of the SEC television package, the Razorbacks will appear on the ESPN family of networks four times, on Fox Sports Net (FSN) and CST twice and on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) once. "It’s a big honor for our program to be seen nationally, as well as regionally, on CSS, CST, ESPN, FSN and SportSouth," head coach Dave Van Horn said. "It says a lot about our league and the popularity of college baseball to have this many chances to be seen on television."The Razorbacks could also appear on CSS as part of a wildcard weekend in the final series of the year against Ole Miss. The selections for the final Friday and Saturday of the regular season will be made at a later date.CSS and FSN/SportSouth will team up to show every game from the first four days of the 2011 SEC Baseball Tournament in Hoover, Ala.
