FAYETTEVILLE– The Arkansas baseball team will appear on the ESPN family of networks four times during the 2011 season, as announced by ESPN and the Southeastern Conference office on Thursday morning.
Arkansas’ four appearances on the ESPN family of networks ties Florida and South Carolina for the most in the conference. The Razorbacks will appear on ESPN2 once and three times on ESPNU. In addition, three of the televised games will originate from Baum Stadium.
The Hogs appear on ESPNU for the first time in 2011 on Saturday, April 9, in the middle game of the LSU series. Game time is set for 7 p.m. (CT).
The Razorbacks’ second ESPN appearance of the season comes on Saturday, April 30, when Arkansas and Georgia square off in the second game of a weekend series. The game against the Bulldogs will be televised on ESPN2 with first pitch slated for 12 p.m.
Two games of the Arkansas-Florida series will be shown on ESPNU. The first televised game of the three-game set is Thursday, May 5, as part of the previously announced Thursday Night SEC Baseball Game of the Week. Game one of the series is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The series wrap-up will also be televised on ESPNU with game time slated for 7 p.m on Saturday, May 7.
In addition to the scheduled regular season SEC games on ESPN, a wildcard game will be shown on Friday, May 13, at 7 p.m. The championship game of the SEC Tournament will be televised by ESPN2 at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 29.
