Noting the RazorbacksThe Razorbacks (19-5, 8-1) went 3-1 on the week, dominating the Missouri State Bears on Wednesday evening, 10-0, then taking the first two of three from the Mississippi State Bulldogs on the weekend … Arkansas begins the Southeastern Conference season 8-0 for the first time in school history and its 8-1 mark is also a program best for SEC play … The Razorbacks’ eight-game SEC winning streak is its second longest in school history … Arkansas’ series win against Miss. St. is its first since the 2006 season and its first at home since 1999 … In the national polls last week, the Razorbacks were ranked as high as No. 9 in both the Collegiate Baseball and Rivals.com publications, No. 10 in the USA Today/ESPN poll, No. 14 in Baseball America and No. 16 in the Collegiate Baseball Writers … The Razorbacks scored 20 runs on Mississippi State in the first game of their series, the most by either team in their 71 meetings and the most by Arkansas against an SEC team since it posted 20 against Georgia in March of 2001 … Arkansas’ shut out of Missouri State on Wednesday evening was its first in exactly one year (3/25/08, Centenary, 9-0) … Arkansas’ bats continued to post impressive numbers as the team hit .359 for the week to improve the Razorback’s team average to .302 … The Hogs team batting average has risen steadily, 20 points, over the past three weeks from a season low .282 to its current .302 … Senior Scott Lyons had a great week at the plate as he extended his hitting streak to a career best 13 games before it was ended in the second game of Sunday’s double header with Miss. St. … Lyons batted .438 for the week with a team high seven hits, a double, his first home run as a Razorback and six RBI … Three Hogs hit over .400 for the week as Ben Tschepikow (.417) and Andy Wilkins (.400) joined Lyons over the mark … On the mound the Razorbacks posted a 4.50 team ERA … Sophomore Brett Eibner looked very good in his start against Missouri State as he threw four innings of two hit ball and struck out a career best seven batters … Sophomore Sam Murphy is also starting to come into his own as he allowed one run in two appearances, 6.1 innings of work, on six hits … Murphy also posted back-to-back career bests with five strikeouts in each performance … Junior Dallas Keuchel may not have had his best stuff against Mississippi State as he allowed three runs over five innings, but he continues to win as he moved to 4-0 on the year and is undefeated in SEC starts (3-0) … The Razorbacks have a Tuesday evening game with Missouri State in Springfield, Mo., before going to Columbia, S.C., to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Hitter of the Week NomineeAndy Wilkins * Senior * INFBroken Arrow, Okla./Broken Arrow* Batted .400 for the week with six hits in 15 at bats. He scored two runs and drove in a team high seven and also connected on his team best ninth home run of the season.* Against Mississippi State, Wilkins batted .545 with a double, home run, two runs scored and six RBI while also executing a perfect sacrifice bunt.* Came through with the eventual game-winning hit in the first game of Arkansas’ doubleheader with Miss. St., as he flared a single to left field to score a run in the third inning.* He posted two multi-hit games, both against Miss. St., including one three-hit performance, his sixth three-hit game of the season and he now leads the Razorbacks with 10 multi-hit games.* Improved his season batting average seven points to .368 and is now tied for the club lead in RBI (27) and leads in home runs (9). He is also second on the team in hits (32), doubles (6) and walks (20).* Helped Arkansas to its best start in conference play since joining the SEC in 1992 (8-1).

Freshman of the Week NomineeCollin Kuhn * Redshirt Freshman * OFBeaver Dam Wis./Beaver Dam HS* Hit .364 for the week with four hits in 11 at bats, three runs scored, two stolen bases and one RBI.* Against Mississippi State batted .400 with all four of his hits, two stolen bases, two runs scored and an RBI.* On the season Kuhn is now batting .348 which ranks fourth on the Razorback roster. He has 23 hits and 21 runs scored with four doubles and a team high two triples.* Has a team best four outfield assists.* Helped Arkansas to its best start in conference play since joining the SEC in 1992.
