FAYETTEVILLE, Ark — Midnight Madness, the first official practice of the Razorback basketball team, will be held Friday, October 12, in Bud Walton Arena. Gates open at 9:30 p.m. and the first 10,000 fans will receive a free Razorback poster. Pre-practice events and contests begin at 10:00 p.m. and the Razorbacks will take the court at midnight. This year’s event will include a hot shot contest, a three point contest, and the annual slam dunk competition. Power 105.7 will also be sponsoring a $10,000 progressive shot contest. The Razorback pom squad and Razorback band will be on hand to add to the excitement. After introduction of the players at midnight, the men’s team will scrimmage for approximately 10 minutes. Following their scrimmage, the men will have an inner-squad three point and slam dunk competition. At the completion of the men’s practice, the Lady Razorbacks will take the court for their first official scrimmage of the year. Admission is a non-perishable food item for the Salvation Army food bank and a $1 donation to the American Red Cross disaster relief fund.
