FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Classes at the University have began and the start of the fall semester can only mean one thing, Razorback sports are beginning. It also means that basketball season is fast approaching and the Razorbacks are making some news both locally and on the national scene.
Dime Magazine wrote a piece on junior shooting guard Rotnei Clarke and talked about his prospects for the NBA and on Arkansas’ sharpshooter becoming more of an all-around player. Read the article here.
ESPN.com released its summer shootaround of the SEC and Fran Fraschilla predicts Arkansas as the No. 3 team in the west and had this to say. "This is an important season for Hogs coach John Pelphrey, and a postseason appearance is a strong possibility. Sophomore Marshawn Powell and junior Rotnei Clarke are a nice inside-out tandem, and Iowa transfer Jeff Peterson should help immediately."
The Razorbacks took part in a community service project at the Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club which was covered by several media outlets.
The Southeastern Conference also released the Razorbacks’ 2011 conference schedule late last week and the complete 2010-11 schedule is posted on ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
