Bill's Blog: Game On

As the Razorback football team gets on the airplane this morning for the Plains, the Razorback futbol team gears up for an important home weekend in Fayetteville.

For our fans looking for American football, remember, tomorrow’s game is available pay-per-view through many cable systems in Arkansas and Alabama. PLEASE check your local cable providers. It is also on the small dishes (DIRECTV and Dish). And, it will be available as PPV through RazorVision. The price is the same regardless — $34.95. Remember, if you want to watch it on TV, order the PPV through your cable provider. If you want or need to watch it on the computer, order it through RazorVision. AND, once again, per SEC rules, it is only available from us to homes with billing addresses in Arkansas and Alabama. Out of market (beyond the states of the two teams) belongs to ESPN GamePlan and 360.

Arkansas Soccer is off to its best start in years at 2-2 in Southeastern Conference action and 9-3 overall. In fact, Gordon Henderson’s Razorbacks roll to 9-1 is the best start through 10 games in school history, and the 2-0 conference open was among the best — the best since the late 1990s.

Tonight, the blog goes to soccer out at Razorback Field. We hope many local fans will be there as this is the first televised game from the field in two years. Arkansas hosts Alabama tonight, and a great crowd would be important for the show.

Soccer has drawn good crowds the past three seasons thanks to the efforts of the staff. There is a lot of outreach to the strong youth soccer community in northwest Arkansas.

It doesn’t hurt that perennial women’s state champion Fayetteville High is literally across the street from Razorback Field. The soccer team has a decided home-state flavor with five of the key players from here in the northwest corner, and three more from central Arkansas.

If you’re not familiar with the game, no better opportunity to sample it tonight at 7 p.m. And if you can’t make it, follow the live blog.

For our regular listeners and viewers, there will NOT be a stream from the field tonight. Remember, we don’t stream events that are live on TV, and this contest is a part of the SEC’s regional telecast package. Look for the game on Fox Sports South, Fox Sports Southwest and Fox Sports Florida; along with some of the other FSN family of channels.

This will be different as many regulars know I call the home games on our RazorVision products. Let’s hope tonight I’ll be typing GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLL ARKANSAS rather than yelling it.
