Bill’s Blog; The worldwide HQ hits the road

IN THE AIR TO ATHENS, GA. — This is a significant weekend. Not only the ever-so-important Southeastern Conference opener for the Razorback football team, this is the first road interactive blog for Arkansas football.

The blog has made a game or two in the past on the road, but it was your demand for road coverage in the regular season that has the interactive blog set to work from the press boxes of the 2010 opponents.

The first two weeks of the season, back-to-back record reader numbers for the CoverItLive driven blog. I personally thank all of you who have contributed, and those that made positive comments through the blog. And if you like the blog being on the road, don’t forget to take a moment to drop an email as well.

For years we’ve promoted Fayetteville and ArkansasRazorbacks.com as the worldwide headquarters of the Razorbacks. Our interactive blogs are certainly proving that. We had participants from military bases in Iraq, Afghanistan and Germany; Hog fans as widely scattered as New York City, Seattle and Kiev (yes, THAT Kiev).

This week will be one of those really fun opportunities with the game on ESPN. Of course, it will double on ESPN3 for those that get the service. Watch and join in with the comments.

So, just because it’s on TV doesn’t mean you can’t get inside scoop, some pics from inside the hedges and other comments.

There were 1,999 of you for ULM, and almost 700 fans came back later to replay the blog. Tell your friends and neighbors — tweet and facebook your Razorback pals — join us tomorrow morning for breakfast from Athens. The blog will open around 9 a.m. central.

GOT SEATS AT SANFORD? Later this afternoon, TwitTix will be moving around Atlanta with a pair of seats ONLY for Razorback fans. If you follow the official feed, @ArkRazorbacks, instructions on where to go and what to do for your chance at a pair of tickets begin around 5p eastern.

Why the day before? We’ve found it’s pretty difficult to commit to getting close to the stadium on game day for the chance at seats. This way, you can plan the day in advance. Plus, fans on the road in the Atlanta area get the chance to win.

If the tickets are unclaimed by bedtime tonight, the TwitTix will be up for grabs from outside Sanford Stadium.

HOGS AND DOGS START TONIGHT: Don’t forget, Robert Pulliza’s volleyball team opens SEC play with Georgia at Barnhill Arena tonight. Live video and blog tonight.

CHOOSE YOUR MATCH: And at the same time, Arkansas soccer returns home for a solo appearance at Razorback Field also at 7 p.m. tonight versus St. Mary’s.
