Bolsinger adds to list of honors

FAYETTEVILLE – Mike Bolsinger continues to receive recognition for his performance on the mound in Arkansas’ series finale at Ole Miss. The McKinney, Texas, native has been named the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Southeast Region Pitcher of the Week and earned a spot on the CollegeBaseball360 Primetime Performer Weekly Honor Roll. Bolsinger was named the Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week by the league offices Monday.

In the rubber game of the Western Division showdown in Oxford, Miss., Bolsinger struck out 11 hitters in eight innings, both career-high marks for the right-handed senior. With the win, the Razorbacks clinched the series and moved into sole possession of first place in the division. It was Bolsinger’s first start since April 2.

Bolsinger allowed just two hits, base hits in the second and eighth innings. Only two Rebel base runners reached second during the game. Bolsinger struck out the side twice and 10 of his recorded strikeouts were swinging. The Razorbacks’ 7-0 win over Ole Miss was the team’s second shutout of the season and first during conference play.

The CollegeBaseballInsider South Region consists of team from the ACC, Atlantic Sun, Big South, MEAC, Southern Conference, SWAC, Sun Belt and three independents. With the addition of Bolsinger, five Arkansas players have been honored by CB360; Bo Bigham (April 21), Zack Cox (March 31), Brett Eibner (March 24) and Collin Kuhn (April 7) are the other four.
