Booker Wentz to play at Lady'Back Field

FAYETTEVILLE – Former Fayetteville High School standouts Jackie Booker and Sophie Wentz get a jump start to their University of Arkansas soccer careers on Tuesday evening, June 20, when they step onto Lady’Back Field to play in the annual Arkansas Activities Association’s All-Star match at 6:00 p.m.

Booker and Wentz are two of three former Fayetteville High School players on the West roster and get an opportunity to close out their high school careers at the same location where their four years of collegiate soccer are set to begin in August.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for these young ladies,” Arkansas head coach Gordon Henderson said. “They are certainly deserving of this after the years that they each had and I wish them the best in the all-star match. It is a privilege for us as a University to be able to hold an event such as this and I wish all the competitors in the match the best of luck.”

Booker and Wentz were key contributors in Fayetteville High School’s march to the AAAAA state championship match where they lost 2-0 to conference rival Rogers back in early May. For her efforts throughout the season, Wentz was also named to the 2006-all-state team for the second consecutive season.
