Bortis Finishes Season with 24th-Place finish at NCAA Central Regional

CHARDON, Ohio – Arkansas golfer Matt Bortis shot a 3-over-par 74 in the final round of the NCAA Central Regional on Saturday at the par-71, 7,136-yard Sand Ridge Golf Club.

Bortis finished the tournament in a tie for 24th position with a 6-over-par total of 219. He missed qualifying for the NCAA Championships as an individual by two strokes.

Bortis started the day in a tie for 18th place after shooting a 1-under-par 70 in the second round. He opened the event with a 75 in the first round.

In Saturday’s final round, Bortis carded birdies on his first two holes of the day, but after bogies on No. 13, 15 and 16, he made the turn at 1-over-par 37. He then shot a 2-over-par 37 on his final nine holes to finish the day with a 74.
