Brewer earns SEC All-Tournament Team Honors

FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas sophomore Kele Brewer earned Southeastern Conference All-Tournament Team honors it was announced Sunday. Brewer paced Arkansas to a first-round win over Louisiana State in a thrilling five-game win and helped Arkansas take a game off of No. 12 Tennessee who went on to win the title over Florida on Sunday. The Castroville, Texas, native was nearly unstoppable against LSU recording 19 kills and hitting .341 for the Lady’Backs. She added one dig and two blocks in the win. Brewer repeated the performance with 19 kills against the nationally-ranked Lady Vols and tallied seven digs and three blocks for the Lady’Backs. "I’m very proud of Kele," said Arkansas head coach Chris Poole. "She played well and deserved the recognition. She was leader on the floor this weekend." Arkansas closes the 2004 regular season at the Fort Worth Plaza Invitational facing Texas Christina and Southern Methodist Friday and Saturday, Nov. 26-27.
