With another dominant performance, @RazorbackWBB chalked up a 91-33 win over Oral Roberts on Wednesday night. The Hogs’ defense was relentless and there’s no doubt that the Golden Eagles were just flat out not ready for that kind of pressure. It was an effort that can easily serve as the template for the rest of the season.
Arkansas forced 36 turnovers in the victory. Yes, you read that correctly. 23 in the first half and then 13 more in the second. Sure, not all of those were directly caused by the Razorbacks, but they did rack up 20 steals on the night, with Calli Berna leading the way with four.
We learned the freshmen can jump in head first and not be afraid of hitting the bottom of the pool. Jessica Jackson did one basket better than the debut, pouring in 19 points in 24 minutes. Once again, Kelsey Brooks played the role of Robin to Jackson’s Batman. The combo guard netted 15 and dished out six assists in an ultra-efficient 20 minutes.
Now the attention turns to Southern Conference opponent Furman. The Palladins are 1-1 after falling to UNC-Asheville on a heartbreaking halfcourt buzzer beater and then dominating D-II Brevard. Just as an aside, UNC-Asheville finished last year with an RPI of 341 out of 345 Division-I schools.
So here are three things to watch for on Saturday afternoon:
