LOS CABOS, Mexico — Highlighted by a three-under par 68 from Ben Hogan Award Watch List member Sebastian Cappelen, the No. 15 Arkansas men’s Golf team fired its lowest round on the final day of the Querencia Cabo Collegiate to finish in seventh place. Arkansas started the day in eighth place but was able to move up into seventh with a three-day scorecard of 299-296-287. No. 16 Houston (863) entered the final round with a four-stroke lead and was able to fend off No. 1 Alabama (864) for the team title by one stroke. Baylor (870) finished third, Kentucky (872) fourth and No. 18 Vanderbilt (875) and SMU tied for fifth place. Cappelen’s 68 was the lowest round of the day by the field of 78 players and also equaled his season-low. Keyed by back-to-back birdies to end his round, Cappelen jumped 15 spots on the leaderboard to finish in a tie for eighth place, good for his fourth top 10 of the year. The Denmark product put together a 73-75-68/216, extending his counting scores streak to 24 while recording his 12th under-par round of the year. Redshirt sophomore Kolton Crawford earned his first top 20 finish of the year by tying for 18th after a final round 74. Crawford was Arkansas’ low-man on the first day with an even-par 71 and produced a 75 in round two. It marked the sixth time this year that Crawford has supplied a counting score in all three rounds. Sophomore Taylor Moore just missed his third straight top 20 finish, carding a final round 74. Moore, who earned SEC Golfer of the Week earlier in the spring, tied for 24th place with rounds of 75, 73 and 74 that featured a team-best 40 pars. Redshirt senior William Meason provided the final counting score on the day with an even-par 71, good for his best round of the tournament.
