Challenging Field Awaits No. 1 Arkansas

Live Scoring
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – It’s back to the links for the second of four fall events for the University of Arkansas women’s golf team as the Razorbacks travel to Eden Prairie, Minnesota, for the ANNIKA Intercollegiate Presented by 3M on Sunday.

Arkansas vaulted to the No. 1 spot in the Golfweek.com rankings after posting a 41-under-par win at the Mason Rudolph Championship. The win ties Pepperdine for the largest win in NCAA history according to Golfweek’s Lance Ringler. Junior Maria Fassi tied for the win while senior Alana Uriell and junior Dylan Kim were in the top five.

This week’s field will challenge Arkansas. The early season rankings can be misleading as nine of the 12 teams in the invitation-only field finished the 2016-17 season in the top-15 in the Golfstat.com standings.

Arkansas is making its third appearance at the four-year-old event. This year, the tournament moves from Florida to Olympic Hills Golf Club in Eden Prairie, just outside of Minneapolis. The Razorbacks finished third in the team’s first appearance in 2015 and played to a runner-up finish last year. Fassi notched an 11-under win in 2016 in Orlando, Florida, while former Razorback and current #ProHogs Gabriela Lopez was Arkansas’ low finisher tying for 4th in 2015.

The five travel spots remain the same for the ANNIKA after a hotly contested week of qualifying in Northwest Arkansas. Fassi leads the charge after her win at the Mason in the season opener. She is joined by Uriell and Kim along with juniors Kaylee Benton and Cara Gorlei.
