Closing Out a Home Stand vs. Missouri State

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas softball team closes out its 11-game home stand Wednesday evening with a game against Missouri State. First pitch of the midweek matchup is scheduled for 5 p.m. (CT) at Bogle Park. Coming off four wins last weekend, the Razorbacks enter the game with an 11-9 record. General admission is $5 while all students (with valid UA ID) and fans 17 years and younger get in free.

All-Time Series vs Missouri State
Wednesday’s game marks the 38th meeting in the all-time series between Arkansas and Missouri State (9-8), which dates back to the inaugural season of the program in 1997. The Razorbacks own a 19-18 advantage including wins in five of the past six games dating back to the 2010 season. Arkansas has won 11 of the 16 games played in Fayetteville.

Near No-No
Junior Grace Moll took a no-hitter into the seventh inning of Arkansas’ March 6 win over Wright State. She had six strikeouts and gave just a long single to right field with one out in the seventh. With the complete-game shutout, Moll recorded her fourth win of the Wooo Pig Classic weekend. She was bidding for her second career no-hitter (2/21/14 vs. Eastern Michigan).

Offensive Fireworks
Arkansas scored a season-high 15 runs behind another season high of 20 hits in the team’s back-and-forth win over Buffalo (March 4) at Bogle Park. Redshirt junior Nicole Schroeder provided the final blow with a walk-off two-run shot in the bottom of the seventh inning. It was the Razorbacks’ eighth game of the season with at least seven runs, and fourth with 10+ runs.

Here Comes the Big Inning
The Razorbacks’ offense has generated four or more runs in nine separate innings this year. Three of those innings came in the team’s 15-14 win over Buffalo (March 4). For the fourth time, Arkansas scored five runs in one inning during the win over the Bulls.

Manufacturing Runs
Entering the fifth week of the season, junior Parker Pocklington leads the SEC with six sacrifice bunts while freshman Ashley Diaz is tops among league players with four sac flies.
