FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas baseball head coach Dave Van Horn met with the media on Tuesday morning to recap the Razorbacks’ fall practice season and also discuss the recently released 2014 baseball schedule. Coach Van Horn opened the press conference by talking about how he thought the fall season went for the team. “I thought the fall went very well for the team,” Coach Van Horn said. “We battled some injuries with some older guys. It gave some youngers guys a chance to get on the field some more and get some at bats in the scrimmages. We learned a lot about the team. We still have a long ways to go. We lost a lot of pitching from last year’s team. That’s probably my biggest concern.” Coach Van Horn also spoke about the team’s recently released 2014 schedule, which includes 28 games against teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2013. “The schedule is pretty tough,” Coach Van Horn said. “This is going to be a year that we’re going to have to play well during the week as well as the weekend if we’re going to get to a regional. We’re going to have to battle it.” The Razorbacks open the 2014 season on Friday, Feb. 14, at 3:05 p.m. against Appalachian State. The season opener vs. Appalachian State is one of 35 home games at Baum Stadium during the 2014 season.
