Rick Nomura - Baseball - Arkansas Razorbacks

Rick Nomura

Rick Nomura is entering his first season on the Arkansas coaching staff as a student assistant after playing two seasons for the Razorbacks.

A fan favorite at second base, Nomura, a Hawaii-native, tranferred to Arkansas from Alvin Community College. He went on to play in 111 games in a Razorback uniform, starting 102, and had a career batting average of .285.

Nomura was nothing but consistent with the bat over his two years as a Hog. His career-high of a .298 average came in Arkansas’ magical 2015 season as he helped the Hogs to their eighth College World Series.

Last season (2016), Nomura batted .272 with 53 hits, 14 doubles, four home runs and 28 RBIs. He tied the team high with 41 runs scored and led the squad in doubles.

He posted a career-high four hits against Western Illinois and a career-high five RBI against Gonzaga in the same week. He also hit a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning against Alabama on Senior Weekend, his final home run as a Hog.

Nomura is from Waipahu, Hawaii and is finishing his degree in kinesiology.
