Todd Mann - Swimming & Diving - Arkansas Razorbacks

Todd Mann

Todd Mann begins his ninth year with the University of Arkansas swimming and diving team, his second serving as associate head coach. Mann was promoted in Oct. 2013 to associate head coach after seven seasons as an assistant coach. Last season, Mann helped the Razorbacks to a record-breaking 10-1 regular season record and sixth-place SEC finish in 2012-13.

Mann remained on staff through a coaching change, which welcomed head coach Sean Schimmel to the program. With the assistance of Mann, the Razorback swimming and diving program soared to new heights in the 2012-13 season as Arkansas sent a record seven swimmers to the NCAA Championships and earned a 26th-place finish, the program’s best since 1990. With the assistance of Mann, sophomores Nikki Daniels and Lauren Jordan both earned All-America honors, with Daniels in the 100-yard breaststroke and Jordan in the 1,650-yard freestyle.

Arkansas also broke 11 school records, including all five relay records. The relay performance in 2012-13 was good enough to allow the Razorbacks to participate in all five relays at the NCAA Championship for the first time in school history.

Mann also coached nine Arkansas swimmers to qualify for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials. The nine Razorbacks combined to qualify for 12 events.

Mann has been instrumental in the turnaround of the Arkansas swimming and diving program, which earned its top College Swimming Coaches Association of America national ranking of 17th in 2010-11. The program was ranked as high as 20th this past season.

With the help of Mann, the Razorbacks broke seven school records in 2010-11 and sent two swimmers to the NCAA Championships in 2010-11 and 2011-12. In 2010, senior Yi-Ting Siow won back-to-back individual SEC titles.

Mann also assisted senior swimmer Chelsea Franklin to her second consecutive All-American honor for her performance in the 1,650-yard freestyle at the NCAA Championships. Sophomore Nicole Menzel also made her NCAA debut when she competed in the 1,650-yard freestyle alongside Franklin.

A crucial component of the recruiting process at Arkansas, Mann helped sign the 14th-ranked recruiting class for the 2011-12 season. Mann’s other recruiting efforts include the 2007-08 recruiting class, ranked fifth in the nation by CollegeSwimming.com, and the 2008-09 recruiting class once again ranked in the top 25. In 2007-08, Mann assisted the Razorbacks to a 7-5 regular season record in dual meets, the first winning campaign for the program since 2000-01. With Mann on staff, the team has never had a losing record.

Prior to Arkansas, Mann worked as a senior assistant coach and assistant aquatics director at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Fla. He brought his wealth of experience working with world-class athletes to his position with the Razorbacks.

Throughout his 15 years of coaching experience, Mann assisted with the development of athletes who competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials and various international competitions.

Mann was an assistant coach for the Cayman Islands swim team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia. He also worked with the Cayman team at the CARIFTA Championships. In 2009, Mann had one of his swimmers make the USA Youth World Team.

At The Bolles School, Mann handled dry land activity for the national group swimmers and assisted with four consecutive undefeated squads and four men’s and women’s Florida high school state championship teams. In addition, Mann developed great relationships with many of the nation’s top high school and club coaches.

Before joining Bolles, Mann worked for four seasons as the assistant aquatics coach and senior coach for Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando, Fla. He started his coaching career in 1994 as the head coach of Swim Florida Bradenton in Bradenton, Fla.

A 1994 graduate of Florida State, Mann has two sons, Cade (8) and Cooper, (5) and one daughter, Casey (7).
