FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas head football coach Bobby Petrino and a record number of coaches, administrators and staff members have teamed up to financially support the University of Arkansas Athletics program as members of the Razorback Foundation.
For the first time in the program’s history, every head coach in the Razorbacks’ 19-sport program is an active member in the Razorback Foundation, an organization that provides financial support and resources for the Razorback Athletic program.
In addition, a record number of athletic department personnel are active members in the Razorback Foundation including every member of the department’s executive and senior administrative staffs.
Petrino led the way back in November when he became a Broyles-Matthews Platinum member making a personal $100,000 commitment to the Razorback Foundation. Petrino’s gift is believed to be the largest donation to the Razorback Foundation Annual Fund by a sitting Razorback head coach in school history.
"I am proud of all of our head coaches and administrators whose commitment and support extends far beyond their coaching duties and administrative responsibilities," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. "Coach Petrino’s substantial financial commitment led the way for the participation of all our head coaches. Each one of them has personally invested in the future of Razorback Athletics and that demonstrates a belief in the direction of our program. We are extremely grateful to all Razorback Foundation members for the difference they are making in our program and in the lives of the more than 460 student-athletes that we serve."
Increased athletic department participation is just a part of the recent overall growth in Razorback Foundation membership. Fans may join the Razorback Foundation and enjoy membership benefits for as little as $50. Benefits based on membership levels include ticket priority, parking accommodations, media guides and tickets to special events.
The mission of the Razorback Foundation is to support the athletic endeavors of the University of Arkansas Razorbacks. The Razorback Foundation assists student-athletes by providing resources for scholarships, facilities and various programs that enable them to realize their dreams of achieving a quality college education while participating in athletics on a nationally competitive level.
