Collen, players meet with media

FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas women’s basketball coach Tom Collen and selected players met with the media Friday afternoon to discuss the Razorbacks start to SEC play at No. 15 Georgia Sunday.

Collen and the Razorbacks begin league play with an 11-1 record, having won 11 in a row. But the coaches adn players know that the SEC is a whole different ball game.

"We are ready to begin play in the SEC," senior Lyndsay Harris said. "That’s what we have been working for all year. We know the level of competition in the SEC – there are no surprises."

"It’s good to have three hard games to start," added junior Sarah Watkins. "The past 12 games have prepared us and we are ready to go."

Arkansas opens at No. 15 Georgia on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Razorbacks next travel to No. 7 Kentucky Thursday followed by a home game with No. 8 Tennessee the following Sunday.

"I think we are ready to play," Collen said. "We want to play better teams – SEC teams – and we are excited to get out on teh court and see what we can do."
