Cosper Earns SEC Honor

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas junior Devin Cosper earned selection to the 2017 Southeastern Conference Women’s Basketball Community Service Team the league office announced today.

Cosper, a guard from Coffeyville, Kan., is the 19th Razorback selected to the team. This year, the junior is averaging 6.1 points per game and 2.4 rebounds per game. She has played in 26 contests with nine starts and averages nearly 20 minutes per game.

Cosper also has 26 steals and has scored 159 points as a junior. In addition, she is on track to graduate with a degree in communication.

Some of Cosper’s community service efforts include:

  • Helped with Operation Baton Rouge – A relief event dedicated to collecting, sending and distributing aid in the form of bottled water, youth clothing, bedding and school supplies to Baton Rouge after flooding occurred in our SEC partner’s city
  • Assisted with Project Unify – A community service engagement program that the women’s basketball team introduced to raise awareness and to initiate dialogue on important societal issues. Project Unify will engage members of the community and law enforcement, to strengthen mutual trust, respect and understanding. The events included a meet and greet in the gardens area at home football games and a veteran’s appreciation breakfast honored those who served and their families.
  • Some of the other events the Razorbacks have taken part are Family Fun Day, distributing back packs and school supplies to area elementary students; and MLK Youth Day engaging in activities and discussion with area youth

The Razorbacks return to the court on Thursday, traveling to Vanderbilt in a 7 p.m. tip. Arkansas wraps up the regular season hosting Auburn on Sunday for Senior Day. The SEC Tournament begins March 1 in Greenville, South Carolina.
