Cox Sports Television Announces a Three-Year Extension with Arkansas

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The University of Arkansas and Cox Sports Television announced a multi-year- extension to their television partnership today. The Arkansas/CST partnership started last year with the coverage of five Razorback events and a monthly Magazine show “Hog Tales”. Through the terms of the new agreement, CST will increase the number of Razorback events to minimum of 10. This will include coverage of Lady Razorback Basketball, Gymnastics and Track and Field and men’s events including baseball, Track and Field and coverage of the Spring Football game. The popular monthly magazine show, “Hog Tales” with host Chuck Barrett will continue as will airings of all weekly coach’s shows and Lady Razorback TV.

CST will begin its coverage of Arkansas events on Wednesday night, 12/20 with a same day delayed broadcast of the Lady Razorbacks basketball tilt with Stephen F. Austin (9 p.m. central time) from Hot Springs, Arkansas. Coach Susie Gardner’s club will have a second game televised throughout the CST network when the Lady Razorbacks travel to Auburn on Sunday, January 14th. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The monthly magazine show, “Hog Tales” is hosted by Chuck Barrett and Blair Cartwright and features in depth interviews and profiles on Razorback athletes, coaches and University officials. The thirty minute show offers Arkansas fans great insight into the many facets of Razorback Athletics. CST will announce schedules for the additional Razorback events including Track and Field, Gymnastics, Baseball and the spring football game shortly.

“The partnership with CST is very important to the University of Arkansas,” said Associate Athletic Director Matt Shanklin. “It provides Razorback fans with a wonderful outlet to stay tuned in to so many of the Arkansas sports.”

CST will re-air Arkansas weekly coach’s shows throughout the year. These shows include, The Houston Nutt Show, Fast Break with Stan Heath and Lady Razorback TV. CST will also broadcast special summer encores of Razorback events and Classic Encores.
