Dacia Barr earns SEC accolade

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Lady Razorback senior Dacia Barr, a member of the track and field team, was named to the SEC Good Works Team, it was announced by the conference on Monday.

The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 20 league-sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to his community in superior service efforts.

With Arkansas Athletes Outreach (AAO), Barr has participated in day-trip outings with underprivileged children and teens, Razorbacks for Christmas, a gift distribution and party for local area children, and volunteered at summer camps for kids.

Working with the Arkansas Student Life office, she has participated in the Book Hogs reading program and the Sweat Hogs exercise and fitness program, which includes making visits to schools and local area children visiting campus.

Arkansas track and field will compete next at the SEC Championships, May 15-18, at Auburn University. For complete details, visit www.ladybacks.com.
