FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas senior Ashley Daniels has paced the Razorback women’s basketball team to a program-best six Southeastern Conference wins in a row. The Coldwater, Miss., native has done that with six consecutive games in double figures and by being one of the SEC’s top free throw shooters this season. Daniels is enjoying one of her best seasons this year. She played in just 11 SEC games as a freshman averaging 0.9 points per game. She elevated that to 6.2 ppg and 4.9 rebounds per game as a sophomore and to 7.3 ppg and 7.3 rpg as a junior. Her senior campaign began as expected with Daniels as the top rebounder for the Razorbacks. She had three games with double-digit points including a career-best 22 points at No. 11/9 Kentucky. That game served to be a breakout point for the demure Daniels. She has since gone on a streak of six consecutive games in double digits leading the Razorbacks to a 17-5 overall and 6-4 SEC record. In addition to her eight season games in double figures, Daniels posted a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds in a road win at Mississippi State. She has nine double-doubles for her career. Daniels and the Razorbacks have a bye on Sunday before hosting South Carolina Thursday in Bud Walton Arena at 7 p.m.
