Darren McFadden Hits the Ground Running in NYC

NEW YORK CITY— Arkansas’ Darren McFadden is one of the fastest college football players in the nation. But even for the talented Razorback sophomore, the pace of his first trip to the Big Apple as a Heisman Finalist hasbeena whirlwind of media interviews, functions and sightseeing. After two days in Orlando for the ESPN Home Depot College Awards Show, McFadden arrived in Newark,N.J.on Friday morningand hit the ground running.

Friday

6 a.m. – Wake Up call

6:30 a.m. – Leave for Orlando Airport

8:30 a.m. – Flight form Orlando, Fla. to Newark, N.J.

11 a.m. – Flight Arrives Newark

11:15 a.m. – Media Interviews at Airport Arrival

11:30 a.m. – Leave Newark Airport in limo with Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith and ESPN Crew filming for Cingular All-America Show

Noon – Arrive Times Square for shoot with ESPN with McFadden and Troy Smith

12:30 p.m. – Arrive at Hotel

12:40 p.m. – Lunch with Heisman Trophy officials, Troy Smithand former Heisman Trophy winner Tony Dorsett

1:10 p.m. – Check in room. Change clothes for TV appearance on Quite Frankly with Stephen A. Smith

1:45 p.m. – Leave Hilton for Quite Frankly taping at the Hotel Pennsylvania

2:45 p.m. – Tape segment with Troy Smith and Stephen A. Smith

3:45 p.m. – Depart the Hotel Pennsylvania

4:15 p.m. – Arrive at Hotel

4:20 p.m. – Conduct newspaper and TV interviews

5 p.m. – Return to room to change clothes for evening activities

5:30 p.m. – Attend Wendy’s High School Heisman Banquet with high school Heisman honorees and former Heisman Trophy winners including Archie Griffin, George Rogers, George “Hop Along” Cassidy, Gino Torretta, Eric Crouch, Johnny Rogers among others.

7:15 p.m. – Bus tour of New York City with Heisman officials and former Heisman Trophy winners. ESPN television crew follows to get material for Saturday night’s Heisman Trophy Presentation Show. Notable places visited include Times Square, Broadway, Rockefeller Center, Empire State Building, view of the Statue of Liberty and Ground Zero.

10:10 p.m. – Return to hotel to visit with family

Saturday

8 a.m. – Noon – Free time

1 p.m. – Heisman Trophy Private Autograph Session

1:30 p.m. – Lunch at ESPN SportsZone and appearance on ESPN News’ The Pulse

3:30 p.m. – Return to Hotel

5:15 p.m. – Leave for the Nokia Theatre

5:30 p.m. – Heisman Trophy Presentation Walk-thru

7 p.m. – ESPN Radio Interviews

7:45 p.m. – Seated for Heisman Trophy Presentation Show

8 p.m. – 2006 Heisman Trophy Presentation Show on ESPN

8:50 p.m. – 2006 Heisman Trophy Winner Announced

9 p.m. – Finalists report to Hard Rock Cafe for media interviews

10:15p.m. – Finalists return to Hotel
