Darren McFadden Honored at Arkansas State Capitol

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock native Darren McFadden took the Arkansas State Capitol by storm on Wednesday as the Arkansas Razorback tailback was honored by both the Arkansas Senate and the Arkansas House of Representatives for his Heisman Trophy runner-up season on the football field last fall.

Members of McFadden’s family were on hand as the junior standout was recognized on the floor of the senate with a proclamation and then again in the house gallery with a citation of accomplishment. McFadden even got to size up the senateleadership perch above the senate floor complete with gavel privileges.

In between the two formal ceremonies, McFadden toured the Arkansas Capitol posing for pictures and signing with autographs with legislators, staff members and visiting school children.

McFadden is in his hometown this week during Spring Break on the Arkansas campus. He will return to Fayetteville in time to resume spring practice next week.
